The Hundred latest results: Oval Invincibles tops the table; Trent Rockets and Northern Superchargers to meet in Eliminator

The league stage of The Hundred has ended, with defending champion Oval Invincibles finishing atop the table and advancing to the final. Trent Rockets and Northern Superchargers finished in second and third, respectively, and will now meet in an Eliminator on Saturday to battle for a place in the final.

Oval Invincibles vs London Spirit

Oval Invincibles sealed its place in the final by defeating London Spirit by six wickets in its final league stage match. The Spirit lower-order cobbled together some runs to get it to 152, but Will Jacks, Jordan Cox, Sam Curran, and Donovan Ferreira produced yet another nerveless chase to seal the defending champion a place in the final.

Northern Superchargers vs Manchester Originals

Manchester Originals ended a dour campaign on a positive note, with Jos Buttler producing a rollicking 70 to take the side to a seven-wicket victory. The Superchargers managed 139 courtesy of a 19-ball 42 from Samit Patel after a returning James Anderson struck with the new ball, but Buttler and Rachin Ravindra scored quickly to secure victory and hand the Superchargers a place in the Eliminator.

Birmingham Phoenix vs Trent Rockets

Rehan Ahmed provided yet another reminder of his all-round talent as he starred in Trent Rockets’ victory over Birmingham Phoenix. The young all-rounder took 3/15 in his 20-ball allocation to keep the Phoenix to 111, before scoring a 23-ball 37 in the chase. The Rockets wobbled slightly in the chase, but injury replacement Ben Cox kept his cool to see them home by three wickets.

Southern Brave vs Welsh Fire

Southern Brave and Welsh Fire played out a thriller to round out the group stage of the competition. Jason Roy found form for the Brave, scoring a 39-ball 70, before late-order hitting took the Brave to 167. Craig Overton was incisive with the new ball, but Tom Kohler-Cadmore pushed the Fire’s chase with a magnificent 84. However, it would fall just short as Jordan Thompson and Tymal Mills defended 23 runs from the final 10 balls.
