Sulakshan Kulkarni appointed as Deputy Head Coach of Oman men’s cricket team

Former Mumbai cricketer and coach Sulakshan Kulkarni was appointed Deputy Head Coach of Oman’s men’s national cricket team on Sunday.

“We’re pleased to welcome Sulakshan Kulkarni as the Deputy Head Coach of the Oman Men’s National Team! A seasoned coach with a wealth of domestic and international experience, Kulkarni brings depth and able leadership to our coaching setup as we prepare for the upcoming journey on the global stage,” Oman Cricket posted on X.

Kulkarni was Maharashtra’s head coach last domestic season after spending a year tumultous year as coach of the Tamil Nadu team. His stint with Tamil Nadu ended on a bitter note after he pinned the blame of the team’s Ranji Trophy semifinal loss to Mumbai on skipper R. Sai Kishore’s decision to bat first on a seamer-friendly pitch.

The former Mumbai wicketkeeper-batter, who played 65 First-Class matches and 13 List A games, had guided Mumbai to its 40th Ranji Trophy title in 2012-13 as the team’s head coach.
