Shefali Jariwala of Kaanta Laga fame suddenly passed away on June 27, 2025. Her demise left the entire entertainment industry shocked. The actress was 42 and became an overnight sensation with her hit song, Kaanta Laga. The official cause of her demise has not yet been stated, but Shefali has left all her friends in the industry mourning. Now, Himanshi Khurana, who was with the actress in the Bigg Boss 13 house, shared how season 13 of the show has been cursed.
Bigg Boss 13 ex-contestant, Himanshi Khurana, reveals how the season was cursed
Shefali was a part of Salman Khan hosted reality show, Bigg Boss 13. Himanshi was also a part of Bigg Boss 13, where she had met her ex-flame, Asim Riaz. The winner of Bigg Boss 13 was Sidharth Shukla, who also tragically later passed away due to a heart attack. Now, Himanshi, a while back, took to her Instagram Stories to write that Bigg Boss 13 was cursed. This was because Sidharth passed away, she had a breakup, and now Shefali also passed away. Himanshi’s note read:
“Bigg Boss, that place is cursed, I think.”
It is eerie to note that Sidharth passed away in 2021, Himanshi and Asim Riaz parted ways in 2023, and in 2025, Shefali passed away. Himanshi shared a picture of the late Shefali, which was a selfie. Himanshi had worn a black attire and was seen making a pout, while Shefali had applied winged eyeliner and was seen smiling ear to ear with Himanshi. Shefali was found dead at her Andheri residence in Mumbai. An official statement related to her demise has not yet been revealed. However, her post-mortem was conducted at Cooper Hospital in Mumbai, and the body was then handed to the family for her final rites.

Himanshi’s ex-Asim had become the runner-up of Bigg Boss 13 while Sidharth was the winner. Asim, who has a huge fan base, reportedly was Shefali’s good friend. Himanshi once in an interview with Pinkvilla, was asked if Asim did try to hit on Shefali and shared she was close to both of them and did not know about the same and shared respect for Shefali. In her words:
“I really respect her because my bond with her was good. I was actually trapped between Asim and her because my bonding with both was strong. I was acting as a glue between them. They already had differences but were good to each other because of me. About the hitting part, it never happened and I am more close to Asim, so I will be a little more concerned about him. But one thing I can say certainly that the thing Shefali said never happened. I am speechless.”
Shefali Jariwala’s untimely demise
Shefali was taken to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital, Mumbai, on June 27, 2025, but was declared dead when she arrived at the hospital. The Mumbai Police stated that her body was taken from the hospital to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Shefali’s Rakhi brother, Hindustani Bhau, was one of the first few to arrive at Cooper Hospital. He broke down remembering his behen who used to tie him a Rakhi and celebrate Ganesh Festival, Bhai Dooj with him.
