The Indian film industry is mourning the loss of veteran Telugu actor and former BJP MLA, Kota Srinivasa Rao. He passed away due to age-related issues on July 13, 2025, a few days after his 83rd birthday. Many celebrities attended the funeral to pay their final respects to the legendary actor. Renowned filmmaker, S. S. Rajamouli of Baahubali fame was also seen at the funeral. However, while leaving the filmmaker was seen getting angry at a fan and pushing him away as the fan tried to take a selfie with him.

S. S. Rajamouli, after paying his final respects to the veteran actor, Kota Srinivasa Rao, was seen getting out of the funeral and heading towards his car. Outside the late actor’s residence gates, a huge crowd of people and paparazzi were seen with their phones capturing glimpses of all the celebrities that attended the funeral. As Rajamouli made his way outside the gates, a lot of people started taking his photos. While the director was walking towards his car, people flagged him on both sides.
However, there was one fan who came near the Baahubali director to try and take a selfie with him. At first, Rajamouli tried to ignore the persistent fan. But then the fan got too close to him and tried to take a selfie despite the sensitive situation. The filmmaker snapped at the fan, pushed him away, and also reprimanded him. Many people have supported Rajamouli, saying that, given the emotional state after attending the funeral and the sensitivity of the circumstances, pushing away the fan was right. A lot of people also lambasted the fan, arguing that it wasn’t the right time or place to take a selfie.

S. S. Rajamouli wrote an emotional note after Kota Srinivasa Rao’s passing
S. S. Rajamouli took to his X handle and wrote a heartfelt note for Kota Srinivasa Rao after the legendary Telugu actor passed away. He expressed his deep sadness over the passing of Srinivasa Rao and called him a ‘master of his craft’. Rajamouli also stated that the late actor breathed life into every character that he portrayed and that his place in cinema would be irreplaceable. The director ended the note with condolences to the deceased’s family. To note, Srinivasa Rao’s career spanned across more than four decades, with appearances in over 750 films. Rajamouli penned down in his condolence note about the late actor:
“Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Kota Srinivasa Rao garu. A master of his craft, a legend who breathed life into every character he portrayed. His presence on screen was truly irreplaceable. My heartfelt condolences to his family. Om Shanti.”
