PM-KISAN 20th instalment coming soon? Here’s what farmers must do first

PM-KISAN 20th instalment: Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN), crores of farmers across the country receive Rs 2,000 every four months from the central government as financial assistance. With the 20th installment expected soon, farmers have been eagerly waiting for the next credit in their accounts.

Although the government has not officially confirmed the date, sources indicate that preparations are in the final stages. The money could be transferred as early as this week or in the first week of July.

PM-KISAN 20th Instalment expected based on four-month cycle

So far, 19 instalments have been disbursed under the scheme. Eligible farmers receive Rs 6,000 annually in three equal instalments — Rs 2,000 every four months. The last (19th) instalment was credited in February 2025. Based on the cycle, the 20th instalment is due now.

Farmers expect the funds to be credited soon, although the official announcement is awaited. Past trends suggest that the money could be released by early July.

PM-KISAN 20th instalment: e-KYC mandatory for disbursal

To receive the next instalment, farmers must ensure their e-KYC is completed. The government has made it clear that no installment will be credited to accounts without e-KYC verification. If not completed, the Rs 2,000 payment could get delayed or withheld.

Farmers can complete e-KYC by visiting their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or through the PM-KISAN online portal using their Aadhaar-linked mobile number.

Check if your name is on the beneficiary list

Farmers are advised to check and verify their names against the PM-KISAN beneficiary list. Very often, names are deleted because of deficiencies in documentation or technical snags, and then the installments are never credited.

Status delving can be done at pmkisan.gov.in, entering your Aadhaar number, mobile number, or bank account details under the “Beneficiary Status” section.

Update your bank details to avoid delays

Check that the bank account details are correct and updated. Too many times, accounts are debited due to wrong IFSC codes, closure of accounts, or accounts not linked with Aadhaar.

So, to avoid any kind of delay in the installment getting credited to the account, it is necessary for a farmer to update bank details simultaneously.

Awaiting official confirmation

Despite the reports about the 20th instalment being released this week or first week of July, so far, the Government has not come up with an official date and hence, before the Government announces the date, making final claims about the release is premature.

Till then, farmers are being told to complete verifications and documentation, especially e-KYC, for smooth receipt of the next installment without any inconvenience.
