A third-party data network outage disrupted operations at Mumbai Airport on Saturday, delaying departures for several airlines, including Air India.
“A third-party data network outage impacted check-in systems at Mumbai airport, thereby delaying flight departures of airlines, including Air India,” the airline posted on X. “The systems have since been restored, however, some of our flights may continue to be affected for some time as the situation normalises progressively.”
Operations began returning to normal by evening, though some passengers continued to face delays as airlines worked through the backlog.
