Filmmaker Karan Johar shared his enthusiastic review on Instagram Stories, calling the film “SO MUCH FUN!” despite acknowledging its familiar tropes and predictable beats. “You can’t stop yourself from reaching the edge of your seat or gasping out loud,” he wrote, further lauding Pitt for approaching the role with a “self-reflecting zen mode movie star swag.” While he admitted to being mildly underwhelmed by the climax, Karan concluded that F1 delivers a “don’t miss this adrenaline race and rush” kind of experience.
Echoing the sentiment in her signature minimalist style, Deepika Padukone posted, “Brad Pitt. That’s it, that’s the post. IYKYK.”
Directed by Joseph Kosinski, best known for Top Gun: Maverick, F1 follows Sonny Hayes, a retired Formula One driver who returns to the racetrack after a 30-year break. Brad Pitt plays the central role, bringing a blend of seasoned grit and emotional restraint that critics have widely applauded.
What makes F1 particularly authentic is its collaboration with Formula One legend Lewis Hamilton, who serves as one of the film’s producers. With his real-world expertise, the film is rich in technical detail and offers an immersive glimpse into the high-stakes world of Formula One racing.
