Indians in County Championship: Chahal completes six wicket haul for Northamptonshire vs Derbyshire


Yuzvendra Chahal completed a six-wicket haul for Northamptonshire as it bowled out Derbyshire for 377 in the County Championship. 

Returning on figures of 4-116 from the previous day’s play, Chahal took the final two wickets of the innings, dismissing Ben Aitchison and Blair Tickner as Derbyshire ended its innings on 377. Chahal finished with figures of 6-118 in 33.2 overs. 

R. Sai Kishore was in action with bat and ball for Surrey as it looked to press its Day 1 advantage against Durham. The Tamil Nadu player was unable to make a large score with the bat, managing a mere six runs from 11 deliveries before falling caught behind to Callum Parkinson. 

Sai Kishore was more successful with the ball, removing opener Ben McKinney and wicketkeeper Ollie Robinson as Surrey looked to seal an innings victory. He also took a catch to dismiss Emilio Gay on 99. He finished the day with figures of 2-36 from 21 overs.

Tilak Varma could not make a telling contribution with the bat for Hampshire against Worcestershire. The left-hander could only score five runs from the 30 deliveries he faced at the crease before being bowled by Tom Taylor.
