The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has secured two international accreditations – Business Graduates Association (BGA) and European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).

The accreditation, in recognition for IIM Jammu’s flagship MBA programme, was announced at a press conference, held at the institute. With the recognition, IIM Jammu joins a group of only five out of the 21 IIMs to hold both accreditations.

The BGA accreditation review began in January 2025 with a peer review team visit, followed by the EFMD evaluation in March. The EFMD board granted a three‑year accreditation in June, while BGA recognition extends for five years.

Other top IIMs such as Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, and Indore hold international accreditations. IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta are triple-accredited institutions (AACSB, AMBA/BGA, EQUIS), while Indore holds triple accreditation including EFMD’s EQUIS (the system for accreditation of business and management schools). In comparison, IIM Jammu’s achievement places it alongside these peer institutes in global recognition.

In its statement, the institute said that by securing BGA and EFMD accreditation, IIM Jammu enhances its international standing and aligns with India’s vision of elevating higher education through global engagement.

The institute’s leadership emphasised the milestone as part of India’s broader educational development and its establishment as a global academic contributor. Adding further, they stated that these accreditations mark the beginning of a broader goal to set global benchmarks, and expand international collaborations.
