Ganguly set to return as CAB president unopposed

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is all set to be elected unopposed as the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). He will replace his brother Snehasish from the post.

Ganguly was the lone candidate to file his nomination papers for the top post by today’s deadline and would return as the CAB chief after six years. He had earlier served as the CAB president from 2015 to 2019.

This marks another stint for the former India batter in cricket administration; he was the BCCI president from 2019 to 2022.

The 53-year-old will also be representing his association in the BCCI-AGM set to take place on September 28.

Ganguly has recently joined SA20 franchise Pretoria Capitals as the head coach and was part of the auction
