First Trade: Markets open flat amid mixed global cues; Nifty holds above 24,350


Market Opening Bell: Indian equities opened on a subdued note on August 11, reflecting mixed global cues and a cautious start to the trading week.

At open, the Sensex slipped 44.58 points or 0.06 per cent to 79,813.21, while the Nifty edged up 4.25 points or 0.02 per cent to 24,367.55.

Market breadth was marginally positive, with 924 stocks advancing, 840 declining, and 135 remaining unchanged.

On the Nifty, Grasim, SBI, NTPC, Trent, and SBI Life Insurance were the top gainers in early trade. On the flip side, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Asian Paints, Tata Consumer, and HCL Technologies were among the key laggards, capping broader market gains.
