Indian equities in Monday’s session (June 30, 2025) opened higher for the fifth straight day as global cues remained positive. At the open, the bluechip Nifty50 index was up over 27 points at 25,664.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex traded in the red – down by a tad 18 points or 0.02 per cent at 84,040.9. Meanwhile the high beta Nifty Bank index after a strong start clinched a new all-time high of 57,614.5 levels.
FIIs – indicating a comeback bought Indian equities for the second straight session on Friday, having bought equities worth Rs 1,397.02 crore.
Stocks to watch
Waaree Energies: The company’s unit- Waaree Solar Americas has received a significant order for the supply of 540 MW solar modules from a US-based developer.
Torrent Pharma: The company will be buying a controlling stake in JB Chemicals. This is the second biggest deal in the Indian pharma sector after the previous Ranbaxy-Sun Pharma.
Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL): The company has bagged an order worth as much as Rs 6,500 crore from Adani Power for six thermal units with a capacity of 800 MW.
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders: The company’s board has approved the acquisition of a controlling stake in Colombo Dockyard PLC- which is a Sri Lanka-listed shipbuilding firm, for $52.96 million (approx ₹452 crore).
Banking stocks: Citi has resounded its optimism on banking stocks. For stocks like PNB- the brokerage has upgraded the target price.
Technical outlook
Zee Business Managing Editor Anil Singhvi expects support for the Nifty50 index at 25,475-25,550 levels and a strong buy zone at 25,200-25,275 levels on Monday, June 30. For the Nifty Bank, the market wizard expects support at 57,050-57,250 levels and a strong buy zone at 56,850-57,000 levels.
Asian markets
Most Asian stocks rose on Monday- heading for sharp gains for the month – amid hopes of trade truce with the US. Meanwhile, investors kept a close watch on the factory data from Japan, China and South Korea.
The key MSCI Asia ex Japan index was down 0.28 per cent at 643.6.
Japan stocks were the top gainer for the day, with the benchmark index scaling to near a one-year high.
