The stock market closed on a strong note today, with the BSE Sensex finishing at 82,571, up 317 points or 0.39 per cent. The Nifty 50 also advanced, closing at 25,195.80, gaining 113.50 points or 0.45 per cent.

Top losers and gainers
Hero Motocorp stood out as a top performer, rallying around 4 per cent, while other key gainers included Sun Pharma, Mahindra & Mahindra, Infosys, Tata Motors, SBI, Bajaj Finserv, Kotak Mahindra Bank, TCS, and Trent.
On the downside, stocks like HCL Technologies, Eternal (Zomato), Tata Steel, Axis Bank, and UltraTech Cement saw some pressure but remained largely contained.
Broader markets remained strong
Broader markets maintained their strength with the Nifty MidCap and SmallCap indices rising by approximately 0.83 per cent and 0.95 per cent, respectively.

Among sectors, PSU Banks, Auto, and Realty continued their strong momentum, each rising over 1 per cent, while the Metal sector gained modestly.
