On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for Delhi and the adjoining National Capital Region (NCR) for the next two days, forecasting light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
Considering the current weather conditions, Delhi airport issued a passenger advisory at 15:42 hours advising passengers to use Metro, check with airlines, and expect Air Traffic Flow Management measures.
According to Delhi airport, all flight operations at Delhi airport are currently normal despite the inclement weather conditions in Delhi.

At present, all flight operations are normal at the airport. “As per the Indian Meteorological Department’s forecast, inclement weather conditions are expected in Delhi from 13:15 hours IST today. However, flight operations at Delhi Airport are currently normal. Our on-ground teams are working diligently with all stakeholders to ensure your journey remains hassle-free,” said the Delhi Airport officials in an official statement.

Further, the advisory advised the passengers to consider alternative modes of transport.

“Passengers are advised to consider alternative modes of transport, including the Delhi Metro, to reach the airport and avoid potential delays. For the latest flight information, passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines,” says Delhi Airport officials in an official statement.

Light to moderate showers are predicted, especially in the evening and night, along with thunderstorms and lightning. Humidity levels will remain high, ranging between 55 and 70 per cent, as per IMD.
IMD Weather Update: June 30 and July 1 forecast
Looking ahead, the IMD has not issued any alert for June 30, although cloudy skies and moderate rain are likely. Similarly, July 1 may witness thunderstorms, but no warning has been issued so far.
Rainy spell to continue till July 3
Intermittent rain and thunder may continue on July 2 and 3, but again, no weather warnings have been issued for these days. Daytime temperatures during this period are expected to remain between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures will likely hover around 26–27 degrees Celsius.
“The IMD expects a slight but steady decline in temperature over the coming days, which may bring much-needed relief from the heat and improve air quality levels in the region.”
