Chandigarh: Man accused of abetment to suicide in Manimajra, case registered | Chandigarh News


In a case of alleged abetment to suicide reported in Manimajra, a 34-year-old man has accused another person of mentally harassing his father over a financial dispute, leading to his father’s death.

According to the police, an FIR under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered at Manimajra police station on the complaint of Rahul, a resident of Manimajra.

Rahul alleged that Idam Khan Gill, also a resident of the area, had been repeatedly pressuring his father, Satish Kumar, regarding a loan amounting to Rs 12 lakh.

Due to alleged constant mental harassment, Satish Kumar reportedly died by suicide at his residence on the evening of June 25 around 6.54 pm. He was immediately rushed to PGIMER, Chandigarh, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death. Further action will be taken based on the findings, said the police.
