On Sunday, June 29, an Air India flight travelling from Haneda, Japan, to Delhi made a precautionary diversion to Kolkata due to unusually warm temperatures in the aircraft cabin.
According to an Air India spokesperson, flight AI357 landed safely in Kolkata and is currently undergoing technical checks.
The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and thanked passengers for their understanding.
“Our ground staff in Kolkata are assisting passengers and providing all necessary support to minimise the inconvenience caused by this unexpected diversion,” the spokesperson said.
The airline also confirmed that alternative travel arrangements are being made to ensure that passengers reach Delhi as soon as possible.
