At 16, this girl made Rs 100 crore AI firm and now working on ‘ChatGPT with hands’

The phrase “age is just a number” often expresses the belief that a person’s age shouldn’t determine their potential, skills, or hobbies. It implies that people of all ages can follow their passions, take on difficulties, and build relationships.

A girl named Pranjali Awasthi, aged 18, proves that in the tech world too, age is just a number, as at this early age, she has created an AI firm worth Rs 100 crore and is now working on ‘ChatGPT with hands’.

An Indian born and US-based coder, Pranjali started coding at the age of just seven. Let’s discover her complete story here:

ChatGPT with hands

Currently, Pranjali is 18 years old and is studying computer science at Georgia Institute of Technology in the US. She is also working on a new project Dash, which she calls ‘ChatGPT with hands’.

According to her, this is an AI assistant that not only talks but can also work for you. Recently, Dash has achieved the top position on Product Hunt, and its Discord server has also been launched.

Pranjali currently lives in Florida, USA. She was 11 years old when her family moved there. Pranjali’s father is an engineer who believes that computer science should be taught in schools along with the core program. His passion also influenced Pranjali, and she started coding at the age of just seven.

Dropped out her high school and started own company Delv.AI

In 2021, Pranjali got a chance to go to the Miami Hack Week event, where she met Lucy Guo and Dave Fontenot, partners at Backend Capital. By giving them a small part of her company, Pranjali got a chance to be a part of their 12-week program. Pranjali’s parents also encouraged her for this, and she dropped out of high school. Shortly after that, she launched the beta version of Delv.AI on Product Hunt. Product Hunt is a platform where people can share their software for free. With the help of Delv.AI, researchers can use AI to get exactly the information they are looking for.

Delv.AI can search multiple documents at once, connect to your cloud drives, and export results in CSV format. There’s even a free plan, with paid options for more features.

Funding for Delv.AI

Pranjali has raised funding of $4.5 lakh for her startup so far.

Pranjali says that my parents are Indian, so education is a priority for them. In June 2023, he has completed his high school, but my decision not to go to college was a bit difficult for them, but they understand why I did it. Pranjali says that she can decide to go to college sometime in the future, if she has to learn some business skills. Right now, she is increasing her skills and is also working on a new project.
