Tejashwi On Bihar CM’s U-Turns; Challenges Shah To Guarantee His CM Term After Polls

RJD leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashvi Yadav, said on Sunday that the Chief Minister remains tired and the corrupt officials were running the government in the state. The response from Yadav came after he was asked about mentally unfit or unhealthy remarks against Nitish Kumar.

“Never. Not a chance… It is okay to forgive someone after they make one mistake. But now he has made the same mistake twice… Anyhow, wherever Nitish Kumar goes now, he will just be an extra baggage, a ‘bojh’…” Tejashwi replied after being asked if RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav will accept Nitish Kumar back in the alliance.

Yadav also demanded that Home Minister Amit Shah issue a written affidavit guaranteeing that Nitish Kumar will serve a full five-year term as Chief Minister if the NDA returns to power.

“BJP leaders might say they will make Nitish the Chief Minister and contest the election under his leadership. But if they truly mean it, then please ask Amit Shah Ji to give it in writing as an affidavit that Nitish will remain Chief Minister for the full five years?” Yadav told ANI.

When asked if there is a dispute among the ‘mahagathbandhan’ regarding seat sharing in the upcoming Bihar election, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that it is an internal matter.

“This is an internal matter of the alliance… It is good (that Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi is actively campaigning in the Bihar elections). He is the LoP. Even PM Narendra Modi comes here to campaign… See what Jitan Ram Manjhi said about Chirag Paswan. Or vice versa. What did Upendra Kushwaha say? We don’t think all is well between them. The same is not the case with us,” the RJD leader said.

He also lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that “a better ‘kalakar’ and liar than PM Modi has not been born in this country.”

The election in Bihar is scheduled to be held by the year end. However, the election commission is still to announce the date yet. The election is being considered a tough battle for both factions – NDA and Mahagathbandhan – and it remains to be seen which side Nitish Kumar ends up joining. For now, he is with NDA, but the coming months will finally raise the curtain on this, as Kumar has shifted sides for record instances in the past few years.
