ENG vs SA: David Miller ruled out of T20I series due to injury

South Africa batter David Miller has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match T20I series against England, Cricket South Africa announced on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old suffered a hamstring injury during the final week of The Hundred while playing for the Northern Superchargers.

“He has been unable to recover in time for the T20I series, which gets underway at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Wednesday,” the board said in a statement on social media.

No replacement was named in the Aiden Markram-led squad, leaving the contingent down to 14 members. Miller was also missing from the One-Day Internationals series but captain Temba Bavuma confirmed that the southpaw remained in the Proteas’ plans for the 2027 World Cup.

In addition, Cricket South Africa also announced Albie Morkel will join the side as a bowling consultant for the T20I series.
