Michael Clarke reveals skin cancer diagnosis, shares post-surgery update

Legendary Australian batter Michael Clarke revealed that he has been diagnosed with a recurrence of skin cancer.

The 44-year-old took to Facebook to share an update after a surgery to remove a suspected growth on his nose. He urged his followers to get health checkups done regularly in the same post.

“Skin cancer is real! Especially in Australia. Another one cut out of my nose today. A friendly reminder to get your skin checked. Prevention is better than cure but in my case, regular check-ups and early detection is key. So grateful that @drbishsoliman_ got it early,” Clarke wrote.

He previously had a skin cancer scare in 2006 when doctors treated him for suspected spots on his face. He immediately got the spots from his face and chest surgically removed. Clarke underwent another procedure to remove cancerous growths from his forehead in 2019.

The cricketer-turned-broadcaster has been a vocal advocate for cancer awareness since.
