Days after reports of actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja’s divorce resurfaced, the couple’s daughter, Tina Ahuja, has responded to the speculation. In a recent interaction, Tina said she feels “blessed to have a beautiful family” and also thanked fans for their constant support.
Refuting all claims of her parents heading for divorce, Tina told Hindustan Times, “It’s all rumours.” When asked how she feels about such reports resurfacing time and again, she responded, “I don’t pay attention to these rumours.”
Tina Ahuja also shared her parents’ reaction to the speculation. When asked how they deal with it, she said, “Kya bolun mein? (What do I say?) He is not even in the country.” She added, “I feel blessed to have a beautiful family and I am really grateful for all the concern, love and support we have been receiving from the media, fans, and loved ones.”
On Friday, after reports of Sunita Ahuja filing for divorce surfaced, Govinda was spotted at Mumbai International Airport. He was dressed in an all-white attire and smiled for the paparazzi.
According to a Hauterrfly report, Sunita has filed the petition under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), and (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, citing adultery, cruelty, and desertion as grounds for the dissolution of their 38-year-long marriage. The court reportedly summoned Govinda on May 25, but the actor has not been present at any of the proceedings in person, prompting the issuance of a show-cause notice.
In a vlog filmed during her visit to Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Temple, an emotional Sunita Ahuja hinted at trouble in her marriage. While speaking to a priest, she broke into tears and said, “Whatever the situation may be, anyone who tries to break my family, Maa will not forgive them.”
In February 2025, Govinda’s team had confirmed that Sunita had indeed filed for divorce six months prior, but claimed the couple had since reconciled.
