Stock market open: Indian benchmarks started the session on a strong footing despite mixed signals from global markets. At open, the BSE Sensex jumped 900.30 points or 1.12 per cent to 81,497.96, while the Nifty 50 climbed 300.20 points or 1.22 per cent to 24,931.50.

Market breadth was solid, with 2,103 stocks advancing, 599 declining, and 166 unchanged, indicating broad-based buying.
