ENG vs IND, 5th Test: Akash Deep records second-highest score by an Indian nightwatchman


Akash Deep’s remarkable 66 in the fifth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Series at The Oval is the second-highest score an Indian nightwatchman in Tests.

Deep, who hit twelve boundaries before his dismissal, combined with Yashasvi Jaiswal to add 107 as India chases a series-levelling victory against England.

The highest score by an Indian nightwatchman is Amit Mishra’s 84 against England at the same venue in 2011. Mishra’s knock came as India was following on in the third innings, eventually losing by an innings and eight runs.
