Mercedes-Benz India has expanded its flagship SUV lineup with the launch of the GLS AMG Line, introducing two high-end variants aimed at performance and luxury enthusiasts. The new models — GLS 450 AMG Line and GLS 450d AMG Line — are priced at Rs 1.40 crore and Rs 1.43 crore respectively (ex-showroom).
Sporty design with AMG touch
The GLS AMG Line gets a bold makeover with AMG-specific design enhancements. Both variants feature:
- Sportier front and rear aprons
- AMG side skirts and 21-inch AMG alloy wheels
- Black styling elements under the Night Package, including dark chrome grille inserts and roof rails
- Perforated front disc brakes with ‘Mercedes-Benz’ calipers
Luxurious interiors
The cabin continues the AMG theme with:
- A multifunction sports steering wheel in Nappa leather
- AMG-branded stainless steel sports pedals
- Floor mats with AMG branding
- Silver chrome trim for an added premium feel
Performance Specs
Both the GLS 450 and GLS 450d AMG Line are powered by six-cylinder engines mated to a 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission. Performance details include:
- GLS 450 AMG Line: 375 bhp (280 kW), 500 Nm of torque
- GLS 450d AMG Line: 362 bhp (270 kW), 750 Nm of torque
- 0–100 km/h in 6.1 seconds
- Top speed capped at 250 km/h
Premium Over Standard Versions
- Compared to the standard GLS variants, the AMG Line petrol version commands a premium of Rs 3 lakh, while the diesel version is Rs 1 lakh more expensive.
