The Faridabad district has been witness to similar attacks on youths in recent times.

Last month, the Faridabad Police arrested a 19-year-old man and apprehended his two minor accomplices for allegedly assaulting and holding an 18-year-old Dalit boy, Sahil, hostage at Subhash Colony in Ballabgarh.

According to the police, the accused allegedly tonsured the teen’s head, shaved his eyebrows, and moustache, and hurled casteist slurs against him.

According to the police, the main accused hatched a plan to attack Sahil, who was once his close friend, “to teach him a lesson” due to the ongoing disputes between the two. Preliminary investigations in this case had revealed that the two had known each other for eight years.
