Demon Slayer Infinity Castle trailer: Sony, Crunchyroll go big on the ‘Final Battle’ | Korean News

Sony Pictures and Crunchyroll, after an endless wait, finally released the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle trailer, teasing ‘the beginning of the end’. The movie trilogy was announced last year, right after the Hashira Training Arc finale. Directed by Haruo Sotozaki and animated by Ufotable, the upcoming Infinity Castle film will wrap up the fan favourite Demon Slayer anime for good.

The upcoming movie picks up right after the anime’s fourth season and is adapted from the final arc of Koyoharu Gotoge’s original manga. Tanjiro, along with other Demon Slayer Corps members, are thrown into the enemy’s nest, the Infinity Castle, after Muzan Kibutsuji, the main villain, launches a surprise attack. The chapter is the final faceoff between demons and the slayers. The first film will open in theatres across North America on September 12.

The one-minute forty-second trailer opens with a voiceover: “The final battle, these words echo in my mind. This battle may finally reach its conclusion tonight.” Cut to the next scene, we see intense action sequences, thrilling visuals, and the ultimate faceoffs fans have been waiting for. The movie also comes with two original soundtrack tracks: “A World Where the Sun Never Rises” by Aimer and “Shine in the Cruel Night” by LiSA. Both songs will drop on streaming platforms on July 18, when we might also get another teaser or trailer.

Before this, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, which was released in 2020, crushed box office records with an unexpected surge in popularity. The film ended up making over $507 million globally, becoming the highest-earning anime movie of all time. It also went down as Japan’s most successful film to date, so this time, the stakes are really high. For those new to the franchise, Demon Slayer tells the story of a young boy named Tanjiro Kamado who lived peacefully in the mountains, supporting his family. But one day, when he returned to his village, he found his entire family brutally slaughtered by a demon. The only survivor was his sister, Nezuko, who had also turned into a demon. Unlike others, though, she still had a soft spot for Tanjiro. But he couldn’t bear to see her in that state. Tanjiro ends up joining the Demon Slayer Corps to find a way to turn her human again and destroy the demon king Muzan. The upcoming trilogy is where that fight finally ends. Demon Slayer has stayed one of the highest-grossing, most-read manga ever since it debuted in 2018.
