Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the centenary celebrations of Acharya Shri Vidyanand Ji Maharaj on Saturday at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The commemorative event, marking the revered Jain spiritual leader’s 100th birth anniversary, is being organised by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Bhagwan Mahaveer Ahimsa Bharti Trust.
The ceremony will begin at 9 A.M., with Prime Minister Modi scheduled to formally launch the year-long programme around 11 A.M. He will also address the gathering on this occasion.
Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Rashtrasant Paramparacharya Shri 108 Pragyasagar Ji Muniraj will also attend the inaugural function.
The centenary celebrations will pay tribute to Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj’s profound contributions as a spiritual teacher, philosopher, scholar, and social reformer. Widely respected for his inclusive approach to spiritual learning, Acharya Vidyanand Ji authored over 50 scholarly texts on Jain philosophy, ethics, and classical Indian languages.
His efforts played a key role in reviving ancient Jain temples and promoting the study of Prakrit and Sanskrit literature. A strong advocate of non-violence, ethical living, and social harmony, Acharya Vidyanand Ji is remembered for his enduring legacy of compassion and wisdom.
The year-long commemoration will include a range of cultural, spiritual, literary, and educational initiatives across India, aimed at inspiring future generations with his message of peace and moral responsibility.
