Actor Zayed Khan recently shared insights about his unexpected entry into Bollywood and the advice his father, veteran actor Sanjay Khan, gave him before he signed his debut film Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne.

For Zayed Khan, the start to his acting career didn’t go as he originally imagined. He assumed he would make his debut under his family’s home production banner. However, his first film offer came unexpectedly while he was visiting the set of Hrithik Roshan’s movie, which was being shot by Vikram Bhatt and featured Ameesha Patel.
“I started going to the gym, worked out, took dance classes, dialogue classes, acting classes – all of it. In fact, I’d also be reading my lines while standing at the petrol pump, waiting for the tank to be filled. And just like that, woh jalwa, woh nasha, obsession ho gaya,” Zayed recalled, describing his early preparation for an acting career.
While he was on Hrithik Roshan’s film set one day, Zayed was approached with a film offer. “He asked me, ‘You’re a very good-looking guy. Will you do a film for me?’ In that moment, I knew I was a lean, mean machine. I was looking good, I knew it, I was feeling it, I was prepared. But I was thinking, I’m probably going to do a home banner,” Zayed shared.
Before accepting the project, Zayed turned to his father for advice. Sanjay Khan gave him a valuable perspective: “I went back and spoke to my father. I said, ‘This happened – would you feel bad if I do this?’ And my father has always been the kind of guy who says, ‘When you make your own life, then you own it better, Zayed.’”
That assurance helped Zayed make his decision, and he went on to accept Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne.
Zayed Khan is now preparing for his digital debut with The Film That Never Was (TFTNW), which is slated to be one of the much-anticipated projects of 2025. Additional details about the project remain undisclosed, and the actor is also rumoured to be in talks for other upcoming ventures.
